of SAP Business Information Warehouse on Informix Dynamic Server

Informix Corporation, a technology leader in enterprise database-powered solutions, has announced the release of the latest high-performance version of SAP Business Information Warehouse 1.2B (SAP BW), on Informix Dynamic Server 7.3.
Available for general release on March 29, 1999, SAP BW technology is a business intelligence solution that gives customers enterprise-wide decision support without impacting the performance of SAP R/3. Coupled with the scalability, performance and reliability of Informix Dynamic Server, SAP BW enables customers to leverage information resources for faster data retrieval and advanced reporting. With SAP BW on Informix, customers are able to thoroughly understand trends and address issues underlying business performance. Pilot customers will begin using this groundbreaking joint solution in early April 1999.

Informix/SAP Pilot and Test Program
Before the release of this solution, the Informix/SAP Pilot and Test Program assures that regular testing and validation of the combined solution has been successfully conducted. After the exhaustive testing process is completed, pilot customers confidently deploy the joint solution. The first customers of the SAP BW solution on Informix Dynamic Server are expected to begin using the solution in early April of 1999. For many of the customers, SAP BW serves as an important first step in deployment of SAP New Dimension products. Data centers adding SAP BW to their environments will be able to produce detailed operational reports without impacting transaction loaded R/3 systems, so end users will enjoy a higher level of performance from the SAP system.
Finally, customers can now achieve complex reporting processes which result in; improved return on investments; reduced systems costs; increased market effectiveness; improved ability to deliver quality customer service; and end-user productivity gains.
