DAOU-Sentient Integrates ENOSIS with IBM Middleware for
Web-Based Data Mart Solution

DAOU Systems Inc.'s Integration Group (Sentient) has announced an initiative with IBM that has enabled DAOU to provide healthcare organizations with rapid, cost-effective access to legacy data from any standard Web browser, reducing conventional query and reporting times from days to minutes.
DAOU has created a low-cost, high-function Data Mart solution by integrating its ENOSIS application with IBM Small Business Suite for Windows NT and MQSeries.
ENOSIS provides a tightly bound interface to M/MUMPS(M), the programming language used in nearly 50 percent of today's healthcare information management systems. ENOSIS enables virtually any mainstream application to retrieve and write Mumps data. DAOU's Data Mart solution, through its integration with IBM's industry-leading middleware, will allow organizations to perform data analysis on records from disparate systems.
The data is extracted from a variety of legacy systems and then populated into the "Integrated View Access System" (IVAS) Data Mart where it can be accessed via any standard Web browser.

"By integrating IBM middleware into its ENOSIS solution and providing a browser interface, DAOU will be able to offer fast, easy access to vital financial data. As a result, trends in collection and reimbursement can be identified and then DAOU's IVAS can generate the appropriate letters, forms or emails that can improve cash flow and reduce the amount of time it takes to make important decisions."
The IBM Small Business Suite for Windows NT offers, in one software package, all the powerful tools needed for growing businesses to implement Internet and intranet-based applications and e-mail services on their existing Windows NT systems. IBM MQSeries, the most widely used message-queuing software on the market, enables users to exchange information between applications across more than 35 different platforms, from mainframes to PCs.
