Lawson Shipping Performance Analysis Solution For AS/400; Extends Web-Based Lead for Packaged Performance Management Software
Lawson Software, a leading provider of Self-Evident Applications (SEA) for the NetGeneration, has announced the development of LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicators, an intelligent data warehouse for executive decision support, for the AS/400 platform.
Lawson will begin shipping its Web-deployable solution, LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicators, for the chief executive officer and chief financial officer on the AS/400 platform in the third quarter of 1999. Lawson introduced the performance indicator concept in March 1998 for UNIX and NT platforms, and quickly gained a significant lead among enterprise software providers with its pre-packaged performance measurement solution.
"With the availability of LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicators for AS/400, companies can leverage their current platform investment with a powerful packaged solution for decision support and performance management," said Dean Hager, director of marketing and strategic initiatives for the Lawson Software AS/400 business unit. "With Performance Indicators, the days of costly and time consuming data extraction, cleansing and transformation are gone. When you consider what a company can save by using Performance Indicators to make faster, more informed decisions and improve processes across the enterprise, it's clear that this solution provides a fast return on investment."
The LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicator Suite integrates some of the enterprise application market's hottest technologies - data warehousing, on-line analytical processing (OLAP) and the company's trademarked Self-Evident Web technologies - into a sophisticated decision support solution for the executive desktop via the Web or a client/server environment. Incorporating more than 200 performance measurements, LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicator Suite is a significant departure from previous decision-support analysis and reporting options available to the high-end and mid-tier market, in that it evolves decision support from a build-it-yourself tool into an out-of-the-box desktop solution.
The LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicator Suite anticipates 80 percent or more of the most commonly asked business questions for each targeted executive role, then uses OLAP and algorithms to program the answers and pre-populate the role-based data marts. The answers are then accessible on the desktop via a personal computer or a browser using Lawson's third-generation Web technology, Self-Evident Applications (SEA).
LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicator Suite also leverages Lawson's proven multi-tier architecture, including the company's Drill Around product integration capabilities (facilitated by Lawson's active metadata repository), that tap into an intelligent data warehouse populated by information in the LAWSON INSIGHT process suites. LAWSON INSIGHT Performance Indicator Suite addresses the corporate market's increasing appetite and demand for technology solutions that help organizations gain faster, better control over their operations through timely access to mission-critical data.
