Oracle And HP Bring E-Business Intelligence To Mid-Sized Financial Institutions: Internet-Enabled Data Marts Designed To Increase Customer Retention
Oracle Corp. has announced the immediate availability of an Internet-enabled data mart bundle featuring Oracle's Data Mart Suite pre-loaded on Hewlett-Packard's Internet Intel-based NetServer LXr 8000 system. The new package, which includes HP's management and security software, provides mid-sized financial institutions with the tools necessary to track customer activity and the ability to securely disseminate business intelligence information via the Internet or a private intranet.
The Oracle and HP data mart bundle allows financial institutions to access and analyze real-time customer information, make strategic business decisions based on that information, and electronically distribute those decisions efficiently and securely to branch offices. With this e-business intelligence technology, financial services may now be targeted to and personalized for "high profit" customers via the development of Internet-based e-commerce and customer service applications.
"In the fiercely competitive world of financial services, understanding customers' needs and their tradeoff decisions is absolutely critical to success," said Eileen O'Brien, marketing manager, HP's Enterprise NetServer Network Server Division. "The combination of high-performance, highly available HP NetServer systems and Oracle's Data Mart Suite offers financial institutions an excellent business intelligence solution for acquiring and retaining profitable customers."
"Unlike other packages, which require users to bear the burden of assembling and integrating the products required for a data mart, Oracle's Data Mart Suite includes everything necessary to deploy a data mart for immediate business results, via the Internet or an institution's intranet," said Michael Howard, vice president, Oracle's Warehouse Program Office. "In addition, this package from Oracle and HP presents financial institutions with an affordable alternative to a full data warehouse implementation."
Winner of Data Management Review's Readership Award, Data Mart Suite provides all the software needed to design, implement and capitalize on the power of data marts. Data Mart Suite includes Oracle8 Enterprise Edition; Data Mart Designer, which models data marts; Data Mart Builder, a graphical extraction tool; Oracle Discoverer, an award-winning query and analysis tool; Oracle Application Server, for intranet access to the data mart; and Oracle Reports and Reports Server, for dynamic Web reporting. Oracle Data Mart Suite delivers the industry's most comprehensive, integrated solution for seamless information sharing within the enterprise or across the Internet.
Available from select Oracle and HP systems integrators in the United States and Canada, the offering from Oracle and HP includes the award-winning Oracle Data Mart Suite deployed on an Intel-based HP NetServer LXr 8000 system along with HP management and security software.
