American Disease Management Selects Sagent Solution For Web-Based Healthcare Trend Analysis Application
Sagent Technology, Inc., a leading provider of Internet enterprise intelligence solutions, has announced that American Disease Management (ADM) has selected the Sagent Solution for a Web-based data warehouse that will integrate case management records with claims data from client insurance companies.
Through trend analysis and reporting using the Sagent Solution, ADM expects to identify opportunities to reduce treatment costs while improving care management and increasing patient satisfaction.
Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, ADM (http://www.diseasemgmt.com) provides disease management services to health maintenance organizations (HMOs) such as Foundation Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida and other risk bearers. Through its Florida-based subsidiary, Quality Oncology (QO), ADM maintains a valuable cancer database containing both financial and clinical data on more than 6 million lives. ADM customers leverage this data to deliver the best health care services for cancer and other chronic diseases in a cost-effective manner. ADM will use the Sagent Solution to extract, transform and organize both medical care records and insurance records stored in this data repository. The Sagent Reports tool will then be used for both client/server and Web reporting analysis.
"In the past, it took ADM three weeks just to process and organize claims information from our customers. And, with only that information, we did not have the capability to match and analyze recorded patient outcome against treatment," said Mike Wall, vice president of information services for ADM. "With the Sagent Solution, not only will we have 24x7 Web access to claims and patient treatment information, but we will also be able to analyze trends on patient prognosis, prescribed care and outcome. We believe we will be able to offer a unique, valuable service to our customers who are looking to improve care management and streamline the costs of chronic diseases."
Sagent's flagship product, the Sagent Solution, is an enterprise intelligence system designed to bring information closer to decision makers for review and analysis. A single, integrated product suite, the Sagent Solution replaces multiple point tools for data movement, analysis and reporting. Its advanced, Web-based architecture provides superior performance and scalability for today's dynamic, high-growth business environments that increasingly depend on the Web for timely information delivery.
ADM selected CONVISTA, Inc. (http://www.convista.com) to help build and design its enterprise reporting tool using the Sagent Solution. Based in Silver Spring, Maryland, CONVISTA is an application consulting firm that specializes in the health care, transportation, finance and insurance industries. "CONVISTA was contracted by ADM to build a total enterprise analysis reporting system. They wanted a 'one-stop' solution: a vendor that could not only extract and organize large amounts of claims and medical information, but also provide a powerful Web-based OLAP reporting tool," said Joseph Petti, president and CEO of CONVISTA. "We reviewed several vendor offerings and found that Sagent offered the only completely integrated Web-based enterprise intelligence solution. Working with this single, integrated suite saved my team at least two months of design and deployment time. We brought in the Sagent Solution in June and will have the entire data warehouse fully operational and deployed in less than 60 days."
