CCAES.COM Announces QuickData Miner, Enabling E-Commerce Content For EDA

CCAES.COM announced recently the release of the QuickData Miner, a plug-in product for Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The QuickData Miner supports the QuickData specification for business to business electronic content exchange defined by the SI2 standards committee. QuickData enables customers and component information end users to make simultaneous queries on component information to multiple suppliers over the Internet, receiving business to business real time responses.

"CCAES.COM's support of the QuickData standard and the release of the QuickData Miner validates our commitment to standards and to providing business to business Internet solutions to the electronic design marketplace," said Uwe Meding, vice president of Engineering.

The QuickData Miner enables component suppliers to efficiently extract, qualify, and tag QuickData content from their existing data warehouses. In many cases, the existing content is only available in the existing Adobe Acrobat PDF format. The point and click allows users to interact directly with the Adobe Acrobat PDF content, extracting specific fields based on an intelligent and configurable dictionary. Each field is tagged and formatted to the specifications defined in the QuickData specification. The tagged and structured QuickData content can be exported to directly to data warehousing systems, including the Oracle Version 8 Enterprise Server.

The PDF QuickData Miner enables component suppliers to mine the massive amounts of existing PDF content. End users of components and component information are able to realize immediate and significant efficiencies and cost savings. QuickData content can be used to directly automate and update EDA tooling and part information, eliminating tedious and manual re-entry of component information content.
