Informatica Hosts Decision Support, E-Business Visionaries At INFORMATIQUE '99

Informatica Corporation, provider of one of the leading software platforms for powering enterprise analytic applications, has announced an impressive line-up of industry visionaries who will give keynote presentations at INFORMATIQUE '99, the company's first annual user conference taking place October 3-6, 1999 at the Sheraton Harbor Island hotel in San Diego.

Co-keynote speaker Michael Cusumano will discuss how the Internet is changing the way traditional companies and e-businesses alike look at corporate strategy, product development, customer marketing and competitive advantage. His keynote speech will draw from his recent book, "Competing on Internet Time: Lessons from Netscape and its Battle with Microsoft," which BusinessWeek ranked as one of 1998's top 10 business books. Mr. Cusumano is the Sloan Distinguished Professor of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management.

In another co-keynote address, industry analyst Colin White will examine the next generation of data warehousing technologies in which traditional build-your-own solutions are replaced with Web-enabled, customizable data mart and application packages. Mr. White will analyze new data warehousing systems, outline key vendor directions and offer advice on how to maximize their potential benefits. Mr. White is the founding principal of DataBase Associates International, Inc., a leading information technology consulting company.

PricewaterhouseCoopers' Mike Schroeck will present a keynote address focusing on the current state of data warehousing architecture and providing insight into emerging trends for the new millennium. Internationally recognized as one of the industry's leading authorities, Mike Schroeck has more than 15 years of experience in data warehousing technology and is the managing partner of the world's largest dedicated data warehousing practices with more than 1,500 professionals. He is also a regular columnist for DM Review magazine.

In his keynote address, Informatica CEO Gaurav Dhillon will outline Informatica's vision for powering e-business intelligence. Mr. Dhillon will explain how Informatica is extending its data warehousing platform to meet e-business needs and will highlight the company's long-term commitment to providing the critical infrastructure needed to power e-business analytics. He will also reveal many exciting new developments with Informatica partners, system integrators and geographic expansion.

Conference attendees will also have the opportunity to attend numerous sessions within five tracks: E-Business, ERP Data Warehousing, Technology, Complementary Solutions and Implementation. Case-study presentations from Informatica customers such as Netcentives, Owens & Minor, Oppenheimer Funds, Carlson Wagonlit Travel and Guidant Corporation will take place throughout the schedule.

Additionally, the conference will offer a two-day lecture and lab course on designing and implementing a data warehouse, a two-day training course on Informatica's PowerMart and PowerCenter software, a half-day question-and-answer session with Informatica's product-development team, and an extensive partner exhibition featuring the latest software solutions supporting the Informatica platform.

"With the introduction of Informatique '99, our customers and partners have a valuable opportunity to connect firsthand with Informatica developers and industry experts who can help them fine-tune the decision-support solutions they've built upon the Informatica platform," said David Downing, vice president of marketing at Informatica.
