NCR Selects Quadstone As Preferred Analytical Workbench In Support Of New Customer Relationship Management Solution

NCR and Quadstone jointly announced recently that the Financial Solutions Group of NCR Corporation has selected Quadstone's Decisionhouse customer behavior modeling software suite as the preferred analytical workbench within NCR's new CRM solution, Relationship Optimizer.

Strong visualization capabilities coupled with speed and scalability make Decisionhouse the ideal fit for the dynamic environment of Relationship Optimizer. Transactionhouse, the latest addition to the Decisionhouse product suite, will also have a role to play, turning masses of detailed transaction data into customer-specific behavioral information.

"Instead of adapting a marketing campaign to anticipated consumer preference, we can accurately identify individual customer needs as they occur and optimize an organization's resources to service those opportunities" says Bob Tramontano, Vice President Customer Management Solutions at NCR. "Also very importantly, Quadstone's focus on usiness-user functionality provides a strong fit with Relationship Optimizer's business-user orientation - especially when contrasted to more technical or statistical products, which can exacerbate the potential "chasm" between business users and the IT organization."

Quadstone's Decisionhouse and NCR's Relationship Optimizer products provide an environment for marketing users to understand and explore customer behavior, and then deploy rules for identifying changing customer needs and prioritizing opportunities on a daily basis. The system then feeds the leads generated directly to the most appropriate channels and manages on-going customer dialogue.

"Analytical CRM system requirements for complex marketing automation applications include customer behavior modeling and sufficient automation for closing the loop," said Mark A. Smith, program director, Application Delivery Strategies, META Group. "Successful applications must leverage highly scalable databases and marry transaction data with demographic data. Vendors, such as NCR and Quadstone, who can provide the ability to optimize the customer relationship will ultimately maximize customer lifetime value."

"Competitive-minded marketing pros are trying to understand and predict their customers' behavior. And to do so effectively requires building and maintaining a holistic view of customers and analyzing their every transaction, or behavior. Quadstone's software provides the analytical depth for behavioral analysis, as well as the speed and scalability to apply these techniques on virtually any amount of data", said Bob Moran, Vice President of DSS Research at Aberdeen Group. "By optimizing its software to run on the Teradata database, Quadstone complements NCR's Relationship Optimizer. While Quadstone reveals the meaning behind a customer's transaction-based behavior, NCR's Relationship Optimizer manages the entire process of using that knowledge to increase the enterprise's profitability."
