SGI AND RATIONAL ALIGN TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS

SGI and Rational Software Corporation have announced a comprehensive agreement to provide Rational's configuration management, runtime error, and visual modeling products on SGI's IRIX platform. The expanded partnership between the companies' developmental efforts to build 64-bit versions includes a joint Rational Purify for IRIX.

Rational Purify's software runtime error-checking capabilities are critical to the development of error-free 64-bit code required to run specific technical applications. Purify features patented Object Code Insertion (OCI) technology and provides runtime error and memory leak detection.
