Intelligent Technologies Releases SPOTLIGHT 3.0 Fraud Detection Solution
Intelligent Technologies Corporation (ITC) has announced the release of SPOTLIGHT 3.0, the newest version of its healthcare fraud detection solution. ITC unveiled the application to a select group of industry experts during the Technology Forum at the recent National Healthcare Anti-Fraud Association (NHCAA) Technology Conference in Reston, VA.
SPOTLIGHT combines data analysis capabilities with a browser-based interface in a system that detects potential overpayments and other suspicious patterns in health care claims - whether due to fraud, waste, abuse or error. SPOTLIGHT's detection engine is based on a suite of analytic tools, including advanced data modeling, targeted fraud filters, statistical analysis and data matching. The new version of SPOTLIGHT adds several key features, including random sampling, expanded data sorting and search capability, increased speed, and enhanced results management.
The first SPOTLIGHT installation, for the State of Texas Medicaid Program, identified questionable payments exceeding $70 million, and is recognized as a model in Medicaid fraud detection. SPOTLIGHT 3.0 is currently being deployed for the Department of Medical Assistance in North Carolina. ITC announced that SPOTLIGHT is being rolled out to commercial health care insurers, as well.
"Over the past two years we have proven repeatedly that our hybrid technology approach produces significant value for our customers," says Dr. Joe Brown, ITC's President and CEO, "Based on early discussions with commercial payors, we believe that the same intense interest exists for new approaches to stopping the drain of improper payments."
