Informix And Admiral Release E-Stream Web Click Analysis Solution


Informix Software and Admiral announced the release of e-Stream, a high Web click analysis solution. E-Stream uses technology from Informix to manage Web-site hits in excess of 100 million a day. Internet Service Providers, telecos, and any company with a Web presence will now be able to track how customers navigate their Web pages using e-Stream. Armed with this knowledge, content providers can restructure their Web-sites according to customer usage patterns, enabling them to increase Web traffic and maintain customer loyalty.

E-Stream brings together Informix's database technology with Admiral's systems integration knowledge and leverages both companies' expertise in telecommunications and the Web. Using the Informix Redbrick Decision Server, e-Stream profiles and categorizes customers according to where they go on the Web-site and in what order. The e-Stream template can be customized to analyze customers' common paths. Site owners can then move their key content 'closer to the first click' and analyze Web usage with the aim of increasing sales.

The announcement marks the first in a series of initiatives by Informix to provide comprehensive Web-based business intelligence solutions. Charlie Chang, Senior Vice President, comments, "Products like e-Stream allow us to enhance our offerings to large Internet Service Providers and content providers. The Informix and Admiral partnership provides customers with a comprehensive solution to complex Web analytic problems. E-Stream converts customer Web activity log-data into intelligent, indexed, and cleansed behavioral data. This data includes the number of new visitors to the site indexed by any time period, the number of repeat visits by the same user, and the average view time. With this information, site owners will be able to identify who their most valuable customers are, and target their product and service offerings to them on a one-to-one basis.
