Cognos Leads Independent Business Intelligence Vendors In Customer Mindshare

Survey.com's BI/DW Research Program's Database Solutions III (DBS III) survey asked 500 North American companies to identify the three companies that came to mind first when thinking about data warehousing and business intelligence software vendors. When the results were tallied, Cognos ranked third behind leading database vendors, Oracle and Microsoft.

Cognos is involved with several major companies, including:

• Eastman Chemical Company: A leading international manufacturer of chemicals, fibers, and plastics, Eastman uses Cognos BI to allow decision makers to quickly and easily access, analyze and report on human resources, marketing, logistics and sales data stored in the company's data warehouse.
• Electronic Arts: The Cognos solution helps EA, a leading computer game manufacturer, analyze marketing data used in the development of business cases for creation of new games.
• Schneider National: A leading transportation and logistics company, Schneider used to the Cognos BI solution to cut costs and shorten delivery times.
