Informatica Corporation Rated Highest In Mindshare In Major New Study On The ETL Market
Survey.com, the leading e-Research services company, announces results from the industry's first ever primary market research conducted on the evolving Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) market.
Preliminary results of a random survey of 229 companies worldwide establish Informatica Corp. as the leading independent ETL vendor in customer mindshare. Informatica is also rated highest in overall customer satisfaction of any ETL tool.
Among independent ETL vendors at those 229 randomly selected companies, 35% identified Informatica as a leader in mindshare, followed by Ardent/Prism at 23%, Data Junction at 21% and Information Builders and Evolutionary Technologies International at 16% each.
Peter J. Auditore, President of the BI/DW Research Program, stated, "Informatica's commitment to ETL technology and the data warehousing market is reflected in the ETL survey results, and the company is well positioned to maintain its position in this growing and evolving market."
The survey results also indicate that the number one reason why companies do not implement an ETL solution is because of cost. Twenty percent of the represented organizations surveyed expect to spend 40% or more of their overall data warehouse budget on ETL related issues (software, services, and in-house expenditures). The average implementation cost for an ETL solution today is between $150k-$500k.
