NCR And Syncra Systems To Provide Web-Based CPFR Solutions

NCR Corporation and Syncra Systems, Inc. announced plans for an alliance to provide Internet-based business-to-business solutions for Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) between retailers and manufacturers.

Under the planned alliance, Syncra Systems will be named an NCR retail solution provider and NCR will become a global reseller of the Syncra Ct application on NCR's Teradata Warehouse. NCR and Syncra Systems are porting Syncra Ct to Teradata.

"NCR's data warehousing solutions for demand chain management are complemented by Syncra Systems' mission-critical framework for inter-company collaboration between retailers and suppliers," said Rick Schultz, NCR's vice president for Retail Enterprise Solutions Marketing. "This collaboration will provide retail trading partners shared visibility into the trends and changes in customer demand-which will allow them to reduce inventories throughout the supply chain, improve customer service levels, and decrease distribution costs."

Under their planned alliance, NCR and Syncra Systems will optimize the Syncra Ct application for NCR's Teradata Warehouse. As a Syncra Ct reseller, NCR will work closely with Syncra Systems to market NCR Teradata-based solutions that enable retailers to collect, merge, and analyze their local forecasts with their trading partners' forecasts.
