British Medical Association Turns To Informatica

The British Medical Association has selected Informatica Corporation's Power Mart data integration software - to ensure that 'clean' and consistent data is fed into its new high-performance, Oracle-based data warehouse solution. The new enterprise data Warehouse will help play a pivotal role in the BMA's strategy to increase membership, improve services to members, and improve planning and forecasting capabilities. Informatica's data integration software - supplied by Informatica PowerPartner, RCMS - will be used to convert and populate the new enterprise data warehouse, from all current data sources and transaction systems throughout the organisation. This solution will also incorporate BusinessObjects front-end analysis technology - providing BMA and BMJ users with query and reporting tools with which to interrogate the new data Warehouse. For the first time, users will be able to stipulate and control their business reporting requirements.

"The new data warehouse is a major part of the BMA's strategy to improve internal efficiency and enhance service levels and response times to our members. Informatica's PowerMart will play a critical role in realising our strategic goal of integrating the data from all of our internal systems," said Martin Kelmanson, Head of IT Services at the BMA. Looking to the future, Kelmanson adds: "The new data warehouse is a crucial part of the BMA's Web-enablement strategy - using the Internet to improve service levels to members still further."
