MathSoft Introduces StatServer 2000
MathSoft, Inc. has announced StatServer 2000, a major upgrade of the company's powerful Web-based decision support tool. Optimized to deliver sophisticated analyses and graphics via corporate intranets, StatServer 2000 offers enhanced performance, scalability, improved administration, and new Web deployment tools. Based on S-PLUS 2000 -- the newest release of MathSoft's core data analysis technology, StatServer 2000 enables decision makers to run shared analytical models, view custom reports, and generate graphics from a familiar Web or Excel-based environment.
StatServer 2000 features new load distribution capabilities, allowing a single Web site to be served by multiple StatServers. Users can also retrieve previously-calculated results to improve performance. StatServer 2000 is now a Windows NT service, offering improved performance, reliability, and remote administration. StatServer 2000 includes new streamlined Web-based tools to simplify creating and deploying analyses. MathSoft's S-PLUS data analysis engine delivers next-generation statistics, graphics, and performance enhancements.
"We're using StatServer to deliver analyses of manufacturing data to engineers in our company. Our analysis processing time has been reduced dramatically from days to minutes, because we can put the engineers directly in touch with their data," says Fred Hulting, senior research scientist, The Pillsbury Company. "By sharing standardized analytical models we are also assured that best practices are being implemented throughout our company. Also, with the enhanced performance and scalability of StatServer 2000, we plan to roll out the technology on an even broader scale."
"The newest StatServer release supports our commitment to offering open decision-support solutions that help businesses remain competitive," said Shawn Javid, vice president and general manager of MathSoft's Data Analysis Products Division. "StatServer 2000 allows decision makers to analyze valuable data and make intelligent business decisions to improve corporate profitability."
StatServer enables corporations to take advantage of Internet/intranet and client/server technologies to deploy statistical expertise throughout an organization. With StatServer, basic statistical models and data visualization capabilities are built and stored in a central server for access by non-technical users, who can apply these analytical techniques from a familiar Web or Excel-based environment. StatServer is a warehouse-independent platform that integrates with any ODBC-compliant database or data warehouse. Using StatServer, business professionals in diverse fields such as finance, biomedicine, and manufacturing can easily retrieve and analyze data.
StatServer is available immediately for Windows NT. The product is licensed and priced by server CPU and starts at $20,000.
