MAX Int'l Launches DataMina
MAX International has launched the first Business Intelligence (BI) package designed to be used throughout a manufacturing company, from the CEO to the shop floor. The product, DataMina, is both a simple to use and powerful piece of software, says the company, with successful trials in several companies in Europe. MAX International has already won four UK contracts for the software, valued at around UKP50k.
DataMina is designed to be jargon free, based on the capabilities of Microsoft's Pivot Tables. This new generation of BI system combines, in a single product, the detail reporting capability provided by a 4GL report writer, together with the drill down and graphical display of a high-end BI system.
"DataMina is a true Business Intelligence system, providing information for the whole business. It is not an executive bauble but a working tool," commented Keith Nabarro, MAX International Sales Director. "Anyone can get any view; from the highest level of summary to the lowest level of detail and all levels in between, both numerically and graphically. It is a Business Intelligence package with a difference: anyone can use it."
Built on the Microsoft Office platform, DataMina provides full integration with other office products, plus e-mail, fax, web etc. and even enables publishing the documents to the company intranet. The technology utilized is deeply embedded in the future of Microsoft products and linked to the future of the SQL-Server 7 data extraction engine and data-cubes. Designed by business professionals with many years experience, DataMina is provided pre-built, with an immediately available set of solutions, and can be easily customized to a company's unique business monitors. DataMina is a fully integrated module of the MAX Business Management System. It is designed to view all standard data sets in MAX, and can even link to, and draw information from, other external databases.
