Peribit Joins VERITAS Enabled Partner Program

Peribit Networks announced it has joined the VERITAS Enabled Program in order to provide joint Peribit and VERITAS customers with high-performance, reliable and cost-effective data replication-over-WAN solutions. The VERITAS Enabled Program provides technology partners qualification and collaborative support for products that are interoperable with VERITAS' storage management, data protection and disaster recovery products.

"Partnering with Peribit helps enterprise customers resolve the competing goals of making data more accessible while managing spiraling WAN costs," said Kenneth Jensen, director of strategic alliances and VERITAS Enabled Program. "By using Peribit's WAN optimization platform, customers are able to deploy VERITAS' data replication solutions, or increase the data set that is being replicated, while managing WAN cost and infrastructure requirements."

By coupling Peribit with VERITAS Volume Replicator and VERITAS Storage Replicator, enterprises can reduce repetition within replicated data. By doing so, replication can be completed in less time and more frequently on existing WAN infrastructure. As a result, customers can achieve higher levels of data integrity at secondary sites while minimizing costly investments and provisioning delays associated with WAN upgrades. This is especially important for companies facing regulatory mandates to establish and maintain remote data replication and disaster recovery solutions.

Banco Santander International, Spain's leading financial institution and a Miami-based private banking center, is a joint Peribit and VERITAS customer that illustrates the significance of today's qualification announcement. To protect its business-critical data, Banco Santander chose VERITAS Volume Replicator and Peribit Sequence Reducers to replicate data across its WAN to a backup facility. Together, VERITAS and Peribit products are designed to deliver fast, cost-effective and uninterrupted failover and reliable data protection capabilities for Banco Santander.

At the heart of Peribit's WAN optimization solutions is its PeriSphere architecture.
