Cluster Computing:

iWAY INTRODUCES NEW GENERATION DATA INTEGRATION PRODUCTS

iWay Software, an Information Builders company and a leading adapter vendor, announced improvements in its data integration capabilities, which include new cluster management, remote installation and management, tighter integration with Microsoft SQL Server, and new data adapters.

"Industry pundits unanimously agree that iWay Software dominates data access by simply offering the greatest number of intelligent adapters and integration offerings within the segment," said John Senor, president of iWay Software. "That is one of the reasons why companies like BEA, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP chose to align themselves with our technology. We don't take our leadership position in this space lightly. These and many upcoming advancements will insure that we maintain our leadership spot in the integration industry by providing customers, partners, and integrators with the most intelligent, easy-to-use products available."

Cluster Management

Cluster Management is part of the revolutionary Autonomic Server concept that provides "self-aware" high availability, scalability, reliability, improved performance, and manageability of enterprise integration infrastructures. Cluster Management makes sure resources are available; active agents distribute work to the appropriate machines; fail-over capability guarantees job conclusion; load balancing speeds completion; and all monitoring and development can be done from anywhere via remote console. In addition, Cluster Management provides a large amount of automation with a Web console, listeners, and embedded logic. This integration architecture detects and reacts autonomously, eliminating the need for most manual intervention by system administrators to correct common integration infrastructure problems.

Remote Installation/Management Console

Remote installations reduce the manual tasks involved in a UNIX, OS/390, z/OS, OS/400, and OpenVMS Server installation. Server installations are simplified because the installation files can be transferred and configured from a local laptop or a remote computer, eliminating the need for certain types of technical and operational support. Additionally, a Web-based management console enables adapters to be configured and managed, anywhere with an interface, from a common graphics-based front-end.

Extended Microsoft SQL Server Support

Universal Adapter Suite exclusively for Microsoft SQL Server, including Data Transformation Services, extends SQL Server's distributed database capabilities to over 50 popular proprietary databases and files, as well as major packaged application systems such as SAP R/3, SAP Business Integration Warehouse (BW), J.D. Edwards, Siebel, and PeopleSoft.

Additional Data Adapters

Intelligent adapters have been added and enhanced to support DB2 Version 8 and IMS version 8, bringing the total number of data and application adapters to well over 250. Additionally, iWay's Adapter for CICS now supports RRS (Resource Recovery Services) and integrated two-phase commit.
