Cluster Computing:

PATHSCALE ANNOUNCES FASTPATH CHANNEL PARTNER PROGRAM

PathScale, Inc., developer of innovative software and hardware solutions to accelerate the performance and efficiency of Linux clusters, has announced the first enrollees in its FastPath Channel Partner Program. The PathScale FastPath Program is a worldwide channel partner program that enables AMD64 system OEMs and integrators to accelerate sales, increase profitability and enhance the performance of the Opteron systems they deliver to their customers by including the PathScale EKO Compiler Suite. The PathScale EKO Compiler Suite, comprised of C, C++ and Fortran 77/90/95 compilers, is the world's highest performance 64-bit compiler suite for Linux-based AMD Opteron systems.

Often referred to as "cluster computing on steroids," Grid computing is for real. Web services, utility computing, .NET, CPU harvesting and distributed computing are just a few of the technologies that fall under the Grid computing umbrella. Gt04 -- a premiere enterprise Grid computing conference targeting industrial and commercial users -- will gather experts, and outline strategies and road maps for Grid deployment. For more information, visit http://www.gt04.com.

"A number of leading Opteron system integrators have joined the PathScale FastPath Program," said Nick Bavaro, VP of Sales at PathScale. "We're building relationships with many of the finest names in the industry to accelerate the delivery of our PathScale EKO Compiler Suite to end users."

Among the first U.S.-based enrollees in the program were Angstrom Microsystems, a manufacturer of high performance computers; Appro International, a developer of high-density, high-performance servers; Lahey Software Solutions, a developer of software for science and engineering; Linux Networx, a provider of proven cluster computing systems that deliver maximum sustained performance; Microway, a manufacturer of HPC Linux clusters; PSSC Labs, a builder of custom-configured high performance computing systems; and Rackable Systems, a provider of large-scale data center deployment solutions.

PathScale's initial international reseller partners include Dalco AG of Wallisellen and Volketswil Switzerland; Delta Computer Products GmbH of Hamburg, Germany; ParTec AG, of Munchen, Germany; ServiWare of Croissy- Beaubourg, France; NovaGlobal Pte Ltd. of Singapore; Streamline Computing Ltd. of Warwick, UK; and Visual Technology Inc. of Toyko, Japan.

"The PathScale EKO Opteron Compiler Suite has demonstrated impressive performance results on Linux Networx Evolocity cluster systems," said Joshua Harr, Chief Technology Officer at Linux Networx. "Each component in our Evolocity cluster systems must meet rigorous quality and performance standards and the PathScale EKO Compiler Suite has achieved this high-level validation."

The PathScale FastPath Channel Partner program provides Opteron system OEMs and system integrators with attractive product discounts, sales training and lead generation tools that will have a positive impact on customer satisfaction, ultimately leading to higher sales and greater profit margins. The program is designed for resellers of all sizes located anywhere in the world who are committed to selling high-performance AMD64-based systems running Linux. Companies interested in the program can find more information at http://www.pathscale.com.
