Cluster Computing:FISERV IMAGESOFT WILL RESELL POLYSERVE CLUSTERING SOFTWAREThe Fiserv Imagesoft unit of Fiserv, Inc., a provider of industry-leading information management systems and services to the financial industry, will resell and support clustering software from PolyServe, Inc. under an OEM agreement announced by PolyServe. Per the agreement, Fiserv Imagesoft will integrate the PolyServe Matrix Server shared data clustering software for Linux and Microsoft Windows with its financial information management software solutions. Customers of Fiserv Imagesoft include banks, thrifts, credit unions, brokerage and mutual fund companies and outsourcing companies. The first integrated product offering of the PolyServe Matrix Server software will be with the Fiserv Imagesoft Guardian Series platform. The Guardian Series platform automates the review of any and all elements on the face of a check image to validate for image quality and usability, as well as check fraud exceptions. Additionally, it provides capabilities for image exchange and IRD production, for Check 21 and beyond. Among the product's initial customers are JPMorgan Chase, Bank One, Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Bank system. Fiserv Imagesoft will use PolyServe Matrix Server software to help customers create scalable, manageable and highly available clusters of up to 16 industry-standard servers attached to a storage area network (SAN). "PolyServe enables our customers to lower their overall infrastructure costs and expand performance and capacity on demand without downtime," said Ron Thompson, president of Fiserv Imagesoft. "With the scalability benefits offered by PolyServe Matrix Server software, our customers can leverage their existing infrastructure investments and simply add on to existing systems in a modular manner with cost-effective industry-standard servers and storage." "Teaming with a premier organization such as Fiserv Imagesoft is a tremendous opportunity for PolyServe," said Ian Miller, vice president of business development for PolyServe. "We look forward to demonstrating the advantages shared data clustering will bring to Fiserv Imagesoft customers throughout the financial community." |
