Cluster Computing:DASSAULT SYSTÈMES, FAKESPACE DRIVE VISUALIZATION W/ CLUSTERSDassault Systemes announced a partnership with Fakespace Systems, a leading provider of immersive visualization solutions. Fakespace joins the company's Software Community Program (SCP) as a Component Application Architecture Version 5 (CAA V5) Software Partner. Fakespace has integrated its solutions with ENOVIA - DMU Navigator 3, which enables high-end visualization and evaluation through virtual reality. Fakespace will provide services on the installation, configuration and operation of the virtual reality features of the V5 platform, in particular DMU Immersive Review. Dassault Systemes and Fakespace will perform a certification process of cluster hardware configurations Two new solutions available in a coming CATIA Version 5 Release in 2005, will enable engineers and designers working with CATIA V5 Digital Mockup (DMU) to drive immersive environments using PC clusters and access virtual reality features in native V5 PLM:
BMW in Munich, Germany has chosen Conduit for its new BMW Projekthaus so that native CATIA V5 three-dimensional digital prototypes, running on clusters, can be displayed in large-scale CAVE, wall and workbench environments. "Fakespace is the first V5 partner providing cluster-enabling software and the provision of complete visualization systems and training," said Chris Clover, president of Fakespace Systems Inc. "Dassault Systemes and Fakespace have been working together since 1999 to refine the immersive features of V5 to ensure optimal performance and reliability." "Fakespace's expertise with all aspects of immersive visualization makes it a strong addition to the CAA V5 partner program," said Laurent Laloy, product manager, research and development, CATIA, Dassault Systemes. "With Conduit and CDVI, V5 PLM users have a new range of possibilities for computing and interacting, resulting in more effective collaborative work sessions." |
