ONLINE RESOURCES SELECTS NEC'S SERVERS TO ENSURE PERFORMANCE

NEC Solutions (America), Inc., a premier provider of integrated solutions for the Connected Enterprise in North America, announced that Online Resources Corporation, a leading outsourcer of Internet banking and payment services, purchased several NEC Express5800/1000 servers. These servers are designed to demonstrate high performance and realize both high scalability and reliability in running large scale applications and intensive computing environments. With the use of NEC's Express5800/1000 Itanium 2 server series and NEC's GlobalMaster Professional server software, Online Resources will enable its growing consumer base to perform financial transactions and payments with continued high speed and accuracy.

"In working with our customers -- more than 700 financial institutions -- our services power more than 100 million transactions and $10 billion in consumer bill payments annually for one million consumer end-users. As consumers adopt our services at a rapid rate, it is critical that we have the cutting-edge technology with the computing speed and reliability to continue to keep them running seamlessly," said David F. Stafford, Online Resources' senior vice president of Systems and Professional Services. "After conducting a competitive three-day benchmark in an environment that simulated our peak workload, the performance of NEC's Express5800/1000 server series combined with GlobalMaster was the clear winner."

NEC's Express5800/1000 server series offers options from eight to 32 CPUs that access up to 512 gigabytes of shared main memory. While delivering the promise of high availability, reliability and affordability, the Express5800/1000 is designed to incorporate future Itanium 2 processor families to sustain technology advancements. The provisioning and failover features of Global Master Professional enables dynamic reconfiguration of processing elements as well as hardware-enabled high availability features. Plus with the support of operating systems like Microsoft Windows Server 2003, makes this server series ideal for both high-end technical enterprises and advanced technical computing environments.

"Any organization that touches the financial services industry today knows that speed, performance and reliability are critical staples to have in supporting an IT environment," said Larry Sheffield, senior vice president of the Solutions Platform Group for NEC Solutions America. "We are thrilled that Online Resources, one of the foremost Internet banking and payment technology companies in the U.S., has invested in NEC's superior technology by selecting the Express5800/1000 server series for its business and technology needs."
