Job Description:
- Be the focal technical support point for the
Network Storage Systems Board and System business with key understanding of
SAN and NAS system architectures
- Understanding/use of key storage protocols such as TCP/IP, iSCSI, IPSEC,
FCIP, NDMP, etc.
- Understanding/use of TCP/IP, iSCSI, other network/transport protocol
off-load engines
- Understanding/use of networked disk based back up
- Understanding/use of TAPE backup systems
- Understanding/use of SCSI and
Fiber Channel products, technologies, markets, & their usage
- Be involved and drive the new product role out from assuring technical
support for the product
- Be involved in the product planning phase for new products and the
associated product family roadmaps. Attend Eng. review sessions during
product development phase.
- Understanding/use of Security/Crypto technology
- Define and administer
the test benches, white papers and technical content development for the
Network Storage product line
- Offer technical liaison-ship to key system and software partners
- Work
directly with the System Architect and assist in evangelizing of the
product line
- Will cover and provide support for the field
The Application Engineering Manager will interface with Sales, Product and
Strategic Marketing groups. This person will assist in the effort of
designing in our products at the customer sights, as well as provide back
end support on development tools and interfacing to the engineering.
Specifically, AEM will provide readily available to our global internal and
external sales teams to assist in answering any design-in/qualification
issues at customer sites. The AEM would have primary responsibility to
support and assist product marketing and business development personnel
with technical issues and or technical sales/teleconference presentations.
The AEM would occasionally travel for highly technical issues that we are
unable to resolve over the phone. Additionally, the tag team of Product
marketing and application eng. will be involved with technical campaigns
conducted with the target customers for the purpose of defining and
supporting product road maps.
The AEM complies and translates information from the worldwide sales force
into new products (custom and industry standard) and services, which keep
the corporation positioned to achieve its targeted marketshare and revenue
goals. The AEMr will play an important role in development of test benches
and their demonstration and promotion to the market place.
Also, the AEM is responsible for developing product, sales and training
presentations that will help the business team penetrate specific markets
and customer segments. The AEM will identify these through market and
technical research. The AEM will publish monthly design win reports, lost
business reports with an analysis and recommendation on how to correct and
publish success/how to stories to representatives and distributors on where
to sell our products.
Qualifications: Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- 10 years of engineering/application engineering with two plus years
management experience in similar industry.
- BS in Electrical Engineering Degree, MSEE a Plus.
- Will have in dept understanding of the system architecture of Networked
storage, server and server appliance systems and the associated peripherals.
